~* GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD *~
Words & Music by John Stainer

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16 & 17

The miracle of salvation is not limited. Some God reaches through fear of condemnation--a rousing sermon on Hell and damnation that is the horrific future of those who choose to refuse that Gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ the Son. Some, as I did, come to the point of salvation through recognizing that infinitely wonderful love God has...that love the Father had that He would willingly give His only begotten Son for this lost and dying world...that love the Son had, willing to give His very life for the world...for me. Such love contrains me....

Although I cannot find much information on the writing of this beautiful hymn, the words--straight from Scripture--are all that are needed.

God so loved the world,
God so loved the world
that he gave His only begotten Son,
that who so believeth, believeth in Him
should not perish, should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

For God sent not His Son into the world
to condemn the world.
God sent not His Son into the world
to condemn the world,
but that the world through him might be saved.

God so loved the world.
God so loved the world
that he gave His only begotten Son,
that who so believeth, believeth in Him
should not perish, should not perish,
but have everlasting life,
everlasting life,
everlasting, everlasting life.

God so loved the world.
God so loved the world.
God so loved the world.

Spend time today reflecting on the love of God...the boundless, sacrificial love of Jehovah.
