~* THERE IS A REDEEMER *~
Melody Green (Unknown)

"Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."
Titus 2:14

This song of thanksgiving to our Redeemer is one of my favorites. I was blessed with the opportunity to sing it with two of my favorite singing sisters--Kathy and Naomi--while we lived in Hawaii. There are occasions while singing with someone, harmonizing with them in heart as well as music, when the song comes forth like a melodious prayer. This is just such a song of praise to our God--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I was surprised to discover that, although the word "redeem" is used throughout the Bible, the name Redeemer is found exclusively in the Old Testament. Yet once again we are reminded that our wonderful, wonderful LORD has given us His Word, in which we find beautiful truths of Jesus Christ, blessed Lamb of God, Messiah, in the Old as well as the New Testament.

I Peter 2:18 & 19, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:".

Titus 2:11-14, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

Isaiah 51:11, "Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away."

Praise God! Praise the Father for giving us His Son, Who redeemed us with His own blood at Calvary! Amen!

There is a Redeemer--Jesus, God's own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, holy One!

Thank You, O my Father,
For giving us Your Son
And leaving us Your Spirit
'Til the work on earth is done.

Jesus, my Redeemer, name above all names,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, O for sinners slain!

Thank You, O my Father,
For giving us Your Son
And leaving us Your Spirit
'Til the work on earth is done.

When I stand in Glory, I will see His face!
There I'll serve my King forever in that holy place!

Thank You, O my Father,
For giving us Your Son
And leaving us Your Spirit
'Til the work on earth is done.

*For Today*: Job 19:25; Psalm 19:14, 78:35; Isaiah 47:4, 48:17, 54:4; I Peter 1:18 & 19; Revelation 5:9
